Some words...of the Creator
Who am I?
If I had to characterize myself in one sentence:
"I'm the person who, if you throw out the door, climbs in through the window" - as there's no conversation or brainstorming from which a win-win situation couldn't be derived.
How did it start?
I started working in tourism 10 years ago as a tour guide. Since childhood, I knew that tourism is my world. Raised by my parents in this environment. Based on my experiences, people crave discovering new things, hence they will travel. Always, regardless of any circumstances. I've been both a resident tour guide and till now I'm a guide for foreign trips. Throughout these journeys, I gained a lot of experience, observed people living in different countries, and tried to understand why people travel, what motivates them, what interests them, why they travel to specific places.
How did it continue?
I graduated from a tourism university, where I earned my doctoral degree. I often give lectures at universities about the values, forms, and importance of the tourism industry. At the age of 27, I became a hotel manager for the first time. I was entrusted with the opening of a hotel that had been closed for a long time. It wasn't an easy task, but from scratch, I managed to forge a team of skilled professionals, create packages, attract guests, and reopen the hotel, which I truly felt like a stronghold castle by my own strength. My theoretical knowledge turned into professional experience over the years. I wasn't just a hotel manager; I also handled direct sales and program organization. I loved it.
What's next?
In today's world, it's essential to provide guests with lasting experiences, which, in my opinion, simply means offering local, vibrant, entertaining programs alongside accommodation. Thus, the idea of creating the Discover Hungary tour operator was born because the rural tourism regions of our small country are full of wonders that should be shown to the general public through the eyes of locals.
Best regards,
Barbara
